Meet your new teachers!

Chestnut Class Teachers

Bellow is some information about who will be teaching in Chestnut class this September.

Miss O’Neill

Hi there! My name is Miss O’Neill, I have been a class teacher at Welland Primary for almost three years and also leading both Art and D+T in school. I’m very excited to be Reception Class Teacher again this year. I studied Primary Education at Manchester Metropolitan University and specialised in both Early Years and Art so I love teaching in the Early Years setting and having the privilege of building the foundation for the children's learning. Some of my favourite things are Art (we’ll be doing lots of this when you come to Chestnut Class!), anything and everything to with the outdoors, maths, music and my two little cats, Dougie and Dahlia. I can’t wait to be your new teacher and to welcome you to Welland Primary School.

Miss Randall

Hello, I am Miss Randall and I have been class Teaching Assistant in Reception at Welland Primary for eight years now. I am early years trained and it's what I love to do, supporting children from the very beginning of their school years. I enjoy the spontaneity of each day when learning through play sometimes joining children in a rocket they have built to 'zoom to the moon' or enjoying the tasty cakes and treats created in the mud kitchen!! I find being in reception extremely rewarding. Seeing the progress children make both academically and personally, seeing their confidence blossom and their personalities shine is just so lovely to be a part of. I am looking forward to meeting you and getting to know you!

Mrs J. Smith

Hello! My names is Mrs J Smith and I am a HLTA (higher level teaching assistant), first aider, level two forest school leader, FA football coach, swimming teacher and more. I have worked at Welland Primary School for nearly 20 years (which is a very long time). I work primarily in Willow class but I’m also lucky enough to work throughout the whole school. I have two grown up wonderful sons and 4 adorable grandchildren, (three grandsons and one granddaughter).

I love the outdoors and being outside, looking at leaves, trees, stones, plants, insects etc, and I am so happy and excited that I am going to be taking you to Forest School/Woodland Wonder on a Wednesday afternoon. I also love maths and PE. I am really looking forward to meeting you all, hopefully in September!
