Admissions to Welland Primary School
Prospective parents are warmly welcomed to contact us to arrange a tour of the school. We also recommend contacting the headteacher for an informal discussion before making an application. Please contact the school office by email office@welland.ps.org.uk or telephone 01684 310246.
The process for admissions is detailed on the Worcestershire School Admissions page linked below.
Admission into Year R (Reception) for September
All applications for Reception places are co-ordinated by Worcestershire Local Authority (LA), who will make offers of places on behalf of the Governors of the school. Parents or guardians who reside within Worcestershire are required to complete a Worcestershire LA application form. Parents or guardians who do not reside within Worcestershire, but who wish to apply for a place for their child at Welland Primary School must complete an application form for their “home” LA which will ensure that application details are passed to Worcestershire for consideration according to the over-subscription criteria as detailed in our admissions policy.
As an academy, Welland Primary School is its own admissions authority. Parents whose application for a place at Welland Primary School has been unsuccessful have the right of appeal to an independent appeal panel. Appeals should be made in writing for the attention of the Clerk to the Governors. The Governors of Welland Primary School will be responsible for deciding the outcomes of applications.
Please email office@wellandps.org.uk if you would like to arrange to visit our school or if you have any questions.
We will also hold small group tours of our school for families with children due to start Primary School in September 2025. These tours will take place on the 23rd October and the 27th November 2024.
Admissions for all year groups (except Reception for September)
Applying for all year groups (except Reception for September) can be done at any time. The process is detailed on the Worcestershire Local Authority website. We recommend contacting the school for an informal discussion with the headteacher and coming to visit us, if possible, before applying.
To apply for a place at our school please submit the in-year application form linked below to Worcestershire Local Authority.
